Feature rich and quick responses when trouble arises, but bugs tend to sit for quite a while before a fix is put in place.
I have worked with imATHLETE for 5 years and have been very pleased with their platform. We decided to switch from Active.com and went out to an extensive RFP looking at many of the larger online registration companies and imATHLETE met and exceeded what we were looking for in a partner.
The first time set up was easy and quick. As we added new events and the following year, it was easy to copy over a registration to make for a really quick set up!
We have a dedicated customer support person, who is available to us in the evenings and weekends and is on call when it is event week, price increases or opening of registration (January 1). In addition to helping us problem solve, she has become a part of the team and often suggests additional features that we should be using or a creative idea that she saw another organization do successfully.
We originally chose their platform due to the event insurance and text messaging features. Over the years we have come to really value the abandoned cart emails, referral links, online merchandise store and the repeat participant reporting.
I have spoken with the CEO, Jeff and many from his team over the years. They have a small company that really values their partnerships, looking at how they can improve imATHLETE, our event and the running industry as a whole. Having Jeff and his team has become an invaluable resource.
I strongly recommend imATHLETE to any endurance events!
We have been using IMATHLETE for about 7 years and I do like their online registration platform. We decided to use them initially because one of our competitors used them, and we figured that if it worked for them, we would try it. They also had a price structure that worked for us. They have been a reliable partner for us. We only host our triathlon (multisport) races there (we are required to host our running races with our timing company).
I have found their customer support to be quick and effective. I like the platform and feel it serves well our athletes. I like that they have USA Triathlon integration, Race Cancellation Insurance, and Repeat Racer Tracking. I also appreciate their logical straight-forward setup.
I have had a chance to talk with their founder and CEO, and meet with reps to discuss how to grow our races. They care about their clients and do have a family, small business feel to the organization.
I do see a few drawbacks to the platform. First they do not have customer service on call on Saturdays, and you can only email them on weekends (you can of course call on weekdays). It takes about 24 hours to get to you on weekends and that is an issue if you have a problem on race weekend (happened to use once). Also note that we contract out all our timing. I do not display results on this site and I am not sure how that would work. I believe you can upload a file but I am not sure how all that works. So, if you are looking for that feature, this site may not be ideal for you.
Overall though, I would recommend this site to other Race Directors.
