RunSignup | GiveSignup, the leading all-in-one platform for in-person and virtual endurance events, unveiled a new shipping charge feature to help race directors manage the cost of shipping internationally. As the virtual event market has grown throughout 2020, races have found themselves with a new opportunity: international racers. However, international shipping can be cost-prohibitive, leading to many races choosing to exclude international participants.

The new shipping feature allows race directors to set the countries that they will allow shipping to, as well as set specific charges for each country. For example, a race may opt to have free shipping for runners in the US, with $15 shipping to Canada and Mexico and $35 shipping to all other countries except North Korea (with no shipping option to North Korea). The appropriate fees for shipping to each country will be displayed to the participant during registration and added automatically to the registration fee.

RunSignup | GiveSignup CEO and Founder Bob Bickel said, “The new shipping charge feature allows races to maximize their participation by allowing more international participants – without the organization absorbing the added expense of shipping. As we move into a new phase with hybrid races that contain both in-person and virtual elements, we see this as a boon for races that want to expand their pool of potential participants and find a way to create a race experience for runners across the globe.”
