This major upgrade features a complete backend rewrite, delivering significantly increased performance and scalability. RaceDay Scoring is comprehensive race timing and scoring software that is revolutionizing the endurance race industry. RaceDay Scoring Version 5 is optimized for handling the largest and most complex races with unprecedented efficiency. This update introduces many new features and enhancements, including building on RaceDay Scoring’s ability to deliver both real-time chip and GPS participant tracking through the RaceJoy mobile app.

Used by timers across the United States for a wide range of events—including running, walking, cycling, triathlon, track meets, cross country, and water sports—RaceDay Scoring represents the next generation in scoring technology. It is designed to cater to timers of all levels, from beginners to seasoned professionals. RaceDay Scoring’s intuitive interface makes it easy for new timers to learn and apply to basic events, while its advanced features provide the flexibility and power required for complex events. Additionally, its seamless integration with other RaceDay tools and RunSignup’s ecosystem ensures a unified, efficient experience from registration to results.

“This release of RaceDay Scoring Version 5 is a direct response to the real-world challenges faced by race timers managing high-volume, complex events," said James Harris, RunSignup’s RaceDay Chief Technology Officer. "By delivering unparalleled speed, real-time data processing, and next-level automation, we are redefining what’s possible in race scoring. With these performance enhancements and powerful new features, RaceDay Scoring is set to be timers’ preferred scoring solution delivering accuracy, efficiency, and reliability in endurance event timing.”

Performance Upgrades for Timing Large-Scale and Complex Events

The backend overhaul in Version 5 introduces a more responsive, faster application experience, even for massive race datasets. Key improvements include:

  • Parallel Processing for Report Calculations – Eliminates lag by running calculations in the background, ensuring smooth operation regardless of race size.
  • Optimized Data Handling – Improved processing of participant data, chip timing reads, and race configurations to prevent slowdowns.
  • Seamless User Interface – Timers can now make real-time adjustments without experiencing freezes or delays.

New Features & Enhancements

In addition to performance improvements, RaceDay Scoring Version 5 introduces several new features designed to streamline race scoring workflows:

  • Data Check Reports – A new default set of reports helps race timers quickly identify common data issues, such as missing gender, missing age, and suspicious results.
  • Enhanced Filtering – New filters for Age Grade and Age Group make it easier to manage participant categories.
  • Customizable Raw Reads View – Users can now tailor their raw reads display and save preferences for future races.
  • Participant Import Enhancements – New tools for handling unknown or missing gender values during data imports.

Expanded Integrations for Race Timing & Real-Time Participant Tracking

The latest release of RaceDay Scoring enhances its integration with industry-leading timing hardware and RunSignup’s RaceDay suite. This update builds on its existing ability to deliver both real-time chip and GPS participant tracking through the RaceJoy mobile app. Key integration enhancements include:

  • More Accurate Start Reads – Option to use the first detected read at start locations for greater timing precision.
  • Improved RaceJoy Mappings – Enhanced expected read occurrences for more reliable participant tracking.
  • Advanced Team Scoring Features – Expanded configuration options for aggregate scoring in lap-based races.

These enhancements provide race timers with greater accuracy, flexibility, and control, ensuring an optimized experience for both event organizers and participants.
