Before and after the event, you work online via an Internet Browser. You and your colleagues access the same event file. During the event, you can work offline. You simply download and install RACE RESULT 12 on your computer. Any other computer in your local network can access the event information via the browser. If internet is available, live results can be forwarded online.

I hate to leave a negative review but I had a very negative experience trying to use the Race Result 12 software and the hardware system and feel the need to warn off any new race directors/timers who are in a similar boat of considering renting from race result. I rented a timing mat, decoder, and trackbox set to time my first race. Ultimately, even after spending several hours the week of the race trying to understand how the system works and getting on a support call with race result the day before my event, I end up having to entirely rely on photo time stamps to collect timing data for my event. This solution is not suitable for those new to timing or for race directors looking for an easy solution to in-house their timing. Agee software is MUCH, MUCH easier to use and I even got better results from manual timing with the Agee system than I did with a full setup from Race Result. Not to mention, Brian Agee is incredibly helpful on support calls, which was not my experience with Race result support. If you are interested in testing a timing system by renting before you buy, just know that the race result rental ends up being very, very expensive once you add in bibs, activation credits, shipping fees (you also have to pay for return shipping out of pocket). Overall, my experience with race result was a very expensive mistake that I won't be repeating. I would have been much better off spending slightly more upfront to buy a system and software from Agee.
