Sportstats World completed its internal sale to an investment group led by the Director of Operations and lead timer A.J. Mousseau and Grand Rapids, MI, based Carbon River Capital.

Former owners Marc Roy and Isabelle Fradette will remain in leadership positions to support and guide the company during the transition. Current leadership and operations teams working for the company in Canada and U.S.-based offices will remain to continue the partnerships and support events moving forward.

Roy and Fradette have been at the helm of the business since purchasing the company in 1995, building the business from a small local timing company to establishing the brand at the forefront of timing service innovation.

“Selling the company was a big decision, but we know it’s the right decision,” said Roy. “We have poured our hearts and souls into building this business, and after thirty years, we are proud of what we’ve accomplished and the legacy we’ve created and are excited to see where the new owners will take the business. We have worked with A.J. for the past ten years and are confident in his skills to bring Sportstats to the next level.”

Founded in 1991, Sportstats World has offices in Canada, Thailand and the United States and has a track record of “more than 1,300 races timed annually, with over two million athletes timed in 2019.” The company works with the world’s largest races and brands, including The Ironman Group, U.S.A. Triathlon, Canada Running Series, Challenge Family, Clash Endurance, Professional Triathletes Organization, Ottawa Race Weekend, and Lilac Bloomsday Run.

“I am thrilled for the opportunity to continue the legacy that Marc and Isabelle have built and to provide our clients with world-class service,” said A.J. Mousseau. “I look forward to building our brand, our services, and finding new and innovative ways for Sportstats to have a positive impact on the endurance sports community.”
