The Let’s Race app won the Best New Mobile App summer award, hosted by Best Mobile Apps.

Let’s Race was created by Brian Hunt, a runner and triathlete. “I was tired of searching through websites trying to find information on local or national events,” Hunt said. “We do so much now on our mobile devices - pay bills, order food, book hotels - it seemed like a great opportunity to make an app.” Over the course of six months, Hunt taught himself iOS programming, compiled a huge database of events and last year launched Let’s Race.

The app features over 45,000 U.S. running, triathlon, obstacle, cycling and swimming races. Users can review races, upload their event photos, and log their finish times. As the coronavirus stopped live endurance events this spring, Let’s Race pivoted and lists over 5,000 virtual races.

“My main goal with this was to get people healthy and racing more," Hint added. "There’s a lot of events happening that people have never heard of. From 5Ks to Ironman distance triathlons, we’ve got something for everyone. I love the atmosphere of events and the community around them and hope the app gives people more opportunity to connect with that.”

The contest looks for apps that stand out from the crowd with their usefulness, quality, uniqueness, and design.

About Let’s Race

Let’s Race was founded in 2019. Its mobile race calendar provides a superior user experience over websites and allows users to save race photos and log finish times. Their goal is to make finding and registering for races faster for athletes, to increase race participation for event directors, and become the first place athletes search to find event information
