Mike Schmitz, previously of Electric City Printing (Vice President Competition Media Division & President), emediagroup (Event Media Consultant), and, most recently, MYLAPS Sports Technology (Managing Director of the Americas), has joined Ashworth Awards as its Director of Strategic Development. Dan and Kim Ashworth as well as our team welcome Mike. He will sustain our marketing and sales efforts in order to continue supporting the endurance industry as energetically as we do now.

Mike has been working in the endurance industry for over 20 years. As a runner and athlete himself, sporting marathon times of sub-3 hours, Mike is the perfect addition to our team and a strong asset to the industry. He will continue focusing on industry-wide perspectives, ensuring Ashworth Awards’ products and services match your event needs. Mike played a crucial role in his previous companies’ successes, implementing strategic relationships and ensuring he was personally connected to his customers. He has never been afraid to be right by race directors' and event managers’ sides in getting their events ready.

A note from Mike Schmitz about his new position:

“Having the opportunity to rejoin the running industry and getting to work with so many great events is a move I am personally excited about. I have always viewed Ashworth Awards as an industry leader. When Ashworth Awards created the Made in the USA products, I feel Ashworth Awards took an innovative and customer-centric approach to the medals and awards business. Events can now take their awards to the next level and with an environmentally friendly approach, which is something I am proud to be a part of. I look forward to what the future holds and am ready to hit the ground running with the wonderful team at Ashworth Awards.”

Ashworth Awards is excited about preserving and ever-improving our mission now with the help of Mike Schmitz. Not only have we invested more time, capital, and research into our manufacturing units, so that we can bring you Made in USA, sustainable products, but have done the same in building a team that can support you for years to come. Ashworth Awards is on a mission to change the world one medal at a time. Mike Schmitz joining our team is a significantly larger step in this direction.
