The company has announced it will stop delivering services in timing and photography, race management and equipment rental at the end of the month.
In a surprise email to clients, EnMotive, the registration, photography, timing and technology platform for races based in Chicago, IL, has announced its decision to cease operations effective September 1, 2024.
The announcement states that as of August 31, 2024, EnMotive will discontinue its services in timing, photography, production/race management and equipment rental, while no new events will be allowed to be created on the platform for registration services beyond September 1, 2024.
Clients currently using EnMotive's registration services will have the opportunity to keep their existing events on the platform through December 31, 2024, or until the end of event registrations, whichever is sooner. The registration service itself will go into maintenance mode, providing minor customer support beyond September 1, 2024, until the processing of registrations is disabled entirely on January 1, 2025.
EnMotive, who acquired competing registration platform imATLHETE in January 2020, was itself acquired by Gannett and consolidated under the Venture Endurance brand in 2021, alongside more than 115 road running, cycling and obstacle races.
EnMotive will be partnering with registration platform haku to provide migration of event registrations for existing clients. Leading US registration platform RunSignup has also released a migration guide for EnMotive clients, should they wish to migrate their events to the RunSignup platform.

Dear Valued Clients,
We regret to announce that the difficult decision was made to cease operations at EnMotive, effective September 1, 2024. This decision comes after 8 years of dedicated service to the industry, during which we have had the privilege of serving you.
As of August 31, 2024, we will discontinue delivering our services in timing, photography, production/race management, and equipment rental. Beginning September 1, 2024, we will no longer allow clients to create events for registration services. However, clients currently using our registration services will have the opportunity to maintain their current events through December 31, 2024, or until their event concludes, whichever is sooner.
The registration service will be maintained, but we will not be developing new features, providing minor bug fixes or providing customer support in assistance in setting up or managing your event during that time. Please note that starting January 1, 2025, we will disable the processing of registrations entirely.
We know having a reliable technology solution that meets your needs is critical to your events and organization. That’s why we are pleased to be partnering with haku to provide a clear migration path over to a new registration application. A leader in the endurance industry, haku will also be the chosen go-forward provider of the Gannett (Ventures Endurance) owned events as the registration technology provider. haku’s robust CRM-based solution is capable of supporting all event styles used by EnMotive clients.
To ensure a seamless transition, haku will offer positions to familiar EnMotive customer support, account management, and sales team members who have served you well. This change will take effect on September 1, 2024. haku is prepared to onboard EnMotive clients smoothly and swiftly. For more information, please refer to our Recommended Service Providers Document. haku will also reach out directly later today with details on the next steps and how they will ensure a smooth and successful transition.
During this transition period, we are committed to ensuring minimal disruption for our clients. You will still be able to access current and past data for your event through December 31, 2024. For events that have occurred on or after August 1, 2023, we will send you your participant data in a ZIP file, to the Client Admins we have on file for your event, containing one event per file. The transition of this data will begin after September 1, 2024. For clients that are still registering events on or after September 1, 2024, your data will be sent, upon the completion of your final event. For events prior to August 1, 2023, you will be able to access your data for your event through the admin portal through December 31, 2024, at which it no longer will be accessible. It is recommended to migrate to a new application with all your data before December 31, 2024.
