RunSignup, the leading registration and technology provider for endurance events in the United States, has launched its 2023 Timer Survey. This annual industry research survey, now in its 5th year, is the only research available that is specifically tailored to timers and offers important insights and trends in race timing. A spectrum of topics are covered, including general business approaches, technology adoption, current trends, challenges, and potential future industry changes.

Race timers from across the industry are cordially invited to participate in the survey, regardless of whether they utilize RunSignup's platform or technology. By sharing their insights and experiences, respondents play a pivotal role in helping the industry stay up-to-date with the latest trends and challenges.

"We're excited to launch this year’s Timer Survey, as it continues to be a valuable resource for our industry and our company," said Bob Bickel, Founder and CEO of RunSignup. "The information we collect in this survey not only helps us better understand the needs of timers but also provides an opportunity to discover new ways we can support timers in adapting to ever-changing circumstances."

The RunSignup Timer Survey 2023 will cover a wide range of topics, including:

  • General timer business strategies and staffing
  • Use of timing software and hardware
  • Registration, scoring software, and participant tracking methods
  • Challenges faced by timers and event organizers
  • Emerging technologies and best practices
  • Feedback on RunSignup’s RaceDay suite of technology products

The survey is open for responses until November 12, 2023. Results will be compiled and made available for all timers to be able to apply insights to their business practices. Select portions of the timer survey will be featured in RunSignup’s upcoming Race Trends report and a debrief will be presented during RunSIgnup’s 2024 Winter Timer Tour
