Overall, RunSignup processed $468 million for events in 2023 and saw growth across all three businesses: RunSignup, TicketSignup and GiveSignup.
RunSignup, the leading technology solution for US endurance events, reported strong growth in their 2023 Year In Review. The company’s key metric is how much revenue they help customers generate from events and related fundraising. Since its inception, RunSignup customers have raised $2.3 billion. Overall, RunSignup processed $468 million for events in 2023 and saw growth across all three businesses: RunSignup endurance events, TicketSignup ticket events, and GiveSignup peer to peer fundraising events.
RunSignup continues to accumulate market share in the endurance events industry, with an estimated 40-45% market share. Additionally, customers saw participation levels return to 2019 levels, with races on the platform in subsequent years growing 9% compared to 2022. In all, the transaction volume from the endurance industry grew 15% in the last year due to both re-growth of races and additional races moving to the platform. As they look to 2024, RunSignup forecasts a further 8% growth in transaction volume for endurance events, with steady participation rates and continuing market share increases.
In addition to the endurance market, RunSignup offers a ticketing product, TicketSignup, and a peer to peer fundraising product, GiveSignup. TicketSignup, the newest business, doubled transaction volume from 2022 to 2023 with a big fall season. More than 300 events used the platform for Halloween events, with a dozen of them selling more than 10,000 tickets each. Continued growth is expected in 2024 with the release of new technology for multi day, timed entry events.
For GiveSignup, the company strategy in 2023 shifted to focus solely on peer to peer fundraising events. With significant investments to make integrations easier and additional upgrades in 2023, 2024 looks to be an even stronger year for GiveSignup. A half dozen large peer to peer events with $1 million+ in transactions are set to be onboarded in the new year, and additional product additions are planned.
RunSignup Founder and CEO Bob Bickel said about the year, “A few years ago we implemented a strategy of operating all three products off a single platform with 2,200 database tables and over 2 million lines of code. Now, we are able to quickly and easily take new improvements in areas like email, websites, and store and implement them on all three products. This has led to a successful year for both us and our customers and we look forward to more in 2024.”
