According to RunSignup's data analysis, April 2024 showed an increase of 7% in participant registrations compared to the same period in 2023, and an 8% year-to-date increase. Given RunSignup’s substantial market share, nearing 50%, this trend is indicative of the broader industry’s performance.

With a customer base exceeding 28,000 events, RunSignup is able to extract valuable trend data. Events hosted on the RunSignup platform in both April 2023 and April 2024, revealed a significant uptick in participation. In April 2023, the tracked events amassed a total of 459,142 participants, while April 2024 witnessed a substantial increase, with participant numbers increasing to 493,106. This impressive growth of 7% underscores the strength of the greater endurance community.

Moreover, RunSignup's year-over-year analysis demonstrates a sustained upward trajectory, with events experiencing an 8% increase in registrations for the entirety of 2024. This growth trend signifies a rebound from the challenges posed by the pandemic in 2023 and previous years.

"This increase in participant registrations for April 2024 is a positive indicator for the industry," remarked Bob Bickel, Founder and CEO of RunSignup. "We will continue to monitor participation levels and I’m optimistic this may well be one of the strongest growth periods for the endurance community since the early 2010s."
