RaceNews, a new digital service dedicated to transforming race communications and branding, is now live and accepting clients for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 events. Created by sports media veteran and marathoner Martin Foley, RaceNews provides small to mid-sized races with professional-quality graphics, participant emails, race guides, and marketing materials—without the high cost of a full-time marketing team.

In an industry where most races struggle to keep up with digital expectations, RaceNews is helping small and mid-sized events look like world-class productions. Here is what RaceNews offers race directors:

  • Branded email campaigns that reduce confusion and increase participant satisfaction
  • Scroll-stopping social media graphics (bib reveals, race week hype, results, etc.)
  • Easy-to-read race guides and PDFs that answer participant questions before they ask
  • Day-of SMS alerts for start times, weather, and results
  • Sponsor decks, volunteer guides, and social media template kits
  • Flexible packages that include race guides, social media graphics, and emails starting at $500, with full-service bundles available

According to Running USA’s 2023 National Runner Survey, 71% of participants said that pre-race communication quality and event branding heavily influence whether they register again. A separate Eventbrite study showed that well-designed digital communications boost registration conversions by 20-30%, and races that communicate regularly with past participants enjoy over 40% higher retention year-over-year.

In short, better branding and communication boost revenue and retention while freeing up time and alleviating stress. Based on conservative projections, a single returning athlete or a sponsor upgrade can potentially offset the cost entirely.

“Race directors certainly don’t lack effort, but they might be short on time and a communication background,” said Foley. “RaceNews gives directors the support and polish of a full marketing team, without the payroll.”

RaceNews is currently onboarding a limited number of races at introductory rates to kick off its launch year. Race directors are encouraged to book early to lock in preferred dates.
