RunSignup, the leading technology provider for US endurance events, announces a new stock award program for employees to make all full-time employees owners of the company. RunSignup had previously taken steps to become employee-owned through stock option grants, but in June 2025 they took the next step forward by granting real shares to every employee.

“We have always aspired to employee ownership because we believe that the people who help build a company should be rewarded for their efforts,” said RunSignup CEO & Founder Bob Bickel. “Additionally, employees are motivated to work hard over a period of time when they know they will be rewarded over a long time – like a marathon, rather than a sprint. As of 2025, our employees make up more than 470 years of experience with RunSignup, including 17 people who have been with us for 10 years or more. Ownership is both an earned reward and an ongoing motivator.”

Many technology companies offer options to employees; RunSignup first provided stock options in 2018, meaning employees could opt to purchase their shares and begin receiving dividends. This stock award is different because it gives every full-time employee at least 1,000 shares of company stock, not just the choice to buy in. RunSignup will cover the estimated taxes for the grant via a bonus payment, and employees are immediately eligible for dividends – as long as they are employed, and even if they opt to leave the company.
